Recommitment to Exercise

Well, since the two weeks that I have posted (more or less) I have lost another 1.5 lbs. I am now at 151 and my size 10 jeans are starting to feel a little loose. Stephen and I have made a new plan to get us both to the gym, so every Monday and Wednesday night I will go work out for 30 min on the bike or elliptical machine, then Stephen will come to the gym and I will swim with Truitt during family swim. We did it for the first time yesterday and it felt so good! Not just for the work out, but also for more family time, and less TV. Which is a goal of mine this year. The sink stayed full of dishes until today but we had fun!

This means I'll be adding these two additional days of work out to Stroller Strides classes which I haven't been that good about, but ideally I would like to go to that three or four times a week, having a total time of four to five hours of exercise per week.

When I lost twenty-five pounds in Spring of 05 and was in the best shape of my life and was also running three times a week for 45 to 60 minutes and biking to work three times a week (one hour round trip) totaling six hours of exercise per week.

Once the weather gets nice I also want to get a bike trailer and use that to run errands instead of driving.

I have also signed up to walk the Rainer to Pacific in July with my Stroller Strides Moms group. So we are going to start training for that in the next month or so.

I am determined!!!

Oh and Casa de Lulu, I haven't been counting my points! Just watching portion sizes and listening to my body, eating dessert only once or twice per week, and I seem to be doing okay. And sooo much less stress! So hopefully I can keep it up with the exercise!

Great job Dominique!

That walk sounds like a great goal to train for. How many miles is it?

I believe it is about 100 miles total. We have a team of 7 so that will be about 14 or 15 miles each, or about a half marathon, that is how I am hoping to train for it by training the same as for a half marathon.

I think your exercise goals are really great! I don't really understand how that walk will work but it sounds like it will be a motivating factor.

It's also very cool that you and Steven are taking Truitt to the gym for a swim is a good way to get him used to the water.

He's been such a cheerful boy the last few times I've stopped by. What a little charmer!! (Truitt, not Steven.)
